Full-Time Faculty: Deborah Holton

Deborah Wood Holton received her BFA with honors in Theatre and Drama with an emphasis in playwriting from Howard University; her MA in English with a concentration in African and African American literature from Atlanta University; and, her PhD from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, in American theatre studies, with a double major in literature, history, and criticism and theory as well as African American history, and a double minor in scene design and art history. She is an Associate Professor at DePaul University, and a Black Earth Institute Distinguished Fellow. Dr. Holton’s scholarly work features a range of topics such as  adult education, and American theatre. A poet and fiction writer, she is completing a  Creative Writing MFA degree at Solstice, Pine Manor College. Dr. Holton is a member of the SNL resident faculty and currently serves as SNL's Foundations Champion.
