CNA Insurance CompanySNL offered an adaptation of both undergraduate and graduate degrees at company offices in Chicago. Class selection and content were customized around pressing industry issues and scheduled around work schedules. CNA supported employee participation through tuition assistance, released work time and contribution of classroom space. The partnership also included a customized Advanced Leadership Development Program. This non-credit program facilitated dialogue on topics related to organizational management and change, a collaborative project and assessment of identified competencies. Six small-group meetings were interspersed throughout the year-long program.
Fubon Bank - Hong KongTwo cohorts of staff members successfully completed undergraduate degrees in a customized two-and-one-half year program. The format included a rotation of five-week intensive classes, with faculty on-site in Hong Kong for three weeks each term. Students studied both business and liberal arts with attention to global issues, with many graduates successfully entering DePaul's MBA program.
MisericordiaCare providers at this facility for persons with developmental disabilities completed a three-course sequence leading to a certificate in "Professional Achievement in Care-Giving and Team Building Skills for Serving the Mentally Disabled." The employer's investment in funding the program and providing classroom space resulted in improved staff moral and patient care. Participants also applied the competencies acquired in this initial certificate work toward requirements for an undergraduate degree.
Allstate Insurance CompanySeveral cohorts of employees have enrolled in an adaptation of the undergraduate program at company headquarters in Northbrook, Illinois. SNL provided on-site instruction for key required courses. Upon completion of these courses, for which staff received some release from work time, students successfully pursued evening and online courses.
